How Often Should You Post On TikTok? (All Explained!)

TikTok is one of the fastest-growing and one of the most-used content creation and consumption platforms out there, you just simply can’t ignore that.

There are hundreds of millions of people using TikTok every single day. As of now, over a billion people in this globe are using TikTok on a regular basis and the number is going to take a great hike in the upcoming years as well.

Whether you are a business, a content creator, an aspiring influencer, or an individual who wants to grow audience size on TikTok, you should be aware of how many times you should post on the platform!

So, in this post, I’m going to talk about how often you should post on TikTok for achieving growth and expanding your user base/business.

Not only I’ll give you valid reasons and numbers, but I will also answer some adjacent questions for you to get a clear idea about everything regarding TikTok posts. Let’s first start by answering the main question…

How Of Should You Post On TikTok?

Well, there are a lot of factors that come into play when you want to know how many times you should be posting on TikTok.

It’s going to vary from industry to industry, person to person, and location to location. But still, I have a golden rule that you can follow…

I’ll for sure, get to the important things you will have to consider to find out exactly how many times you need to post on TikTok for better results but before that, here’s a satisfactory answer you would like to read:

Creators on TikTok should be posting at least 2 to 3 times a day for getting optimum results. That’s because the amount of content on the platform has significantly increased and you will have to stand out by posting regularly.

When you will be posting two to three times (or more) per day, people will slowly start spotting your profile, content, and value. This way, your account will gradually get traction and will start to grow significantly.

When you are out there on the platform and creating content every single day, your followers will naturally expect and wait for something new from you. When you will win their hearts, it’ll boost your account’s overall engagement and help you achieve more reach as well as followers.

If you are one of those who are ‘too busy to consistently post on TikTok,’ it’s not for you. That’s because all it takes to create a great video for this social platform is anywhere from 15-20 minutes and if you can’t bear that, it’s just not for you.

Now that I have stated how often you need to be posting on TikTok, let’s now take a look at the crucial things you will want to consider before deciding how often to post:

Things To Consider

Let’s first quickly have a glimpse and then understand each factor with great detail. Here you go:

  • The Niche Of Your Account
  • Your Audience’s Work Schedule
  • Audience’s Behaviour/Analytics

1. The Niche Of Your Account

The first and one of the very vital things you will have to take into account before deciding the number of times you should be posting videos on TikTok is the niche of your account.

Your posting frequency will always depend on your niche. For example, if you create content in a B2B niche, you won’t be posting more than one or two videos per day.

On the other hand, if you create content in niches like food, relationships, spirituality, music, and others, posting three to five (or more) pieces of content would be totally fine.

Now, some of you might think that posting TikTok videos in a B2B niche isn’t worth it but that’s simply not the truth. I have two extremely successful accounts in the B2B niche (On TikTok!) and many other marketers too!

2. Your Audience’s Work Schedule

Of course, your audience’s work schedule is going to be a major differentiator in your account’s content strategy and growth.

If your audience is busy in a day for a long period of time, posting multiple times in a day won’t be worth a lot.

That’s because no matter how often you post, no one is going to notice your content pieces and as a result, no one will engage with your posts.

If your target demographic is of such type (for example, entrepreneurship, law, etc.), you will have to create a different strategy for seeing good numbers.

3. Audience’s Behaviour/Analytics

The third important thing you will have to consider is your analytics and the behavior of the audience.

Your TikTok analytics will tell you the best spots to post your videos on specific days. Just go through those and pick the top spots in a day. Here, you will just be posting when people show the highest engagement with your posts.

And also, it’s not just about posting, posting, and posting! It’s about posting the right kind of content at the right time.

For example, if your target audience is people in the 18-25 age group, you can’t be posting a lot of informational content for them in the evening! That’s because a lot of them might be chilling and would want to see something funny instead of educational!

Other than this, I think it would be really helpful for you to watch this video:

Should You Post Everyday On TikTok?

Well, of course, the answer to this question is going to be – it depends, but according to various sources on the web as well as my own personal experience, you should be posting at least once every day.

The reason being is that TikTok or any other social media platform out there wants to keep users on the platform as long as they can.

And now, if you don’t agree with their algorithm and don’t keep people on the platform (which is only possible when you create content), the platform is not going to promote your account and neither people will be searching for you. This will drastically harm your growth.

Can You Post Too Much On TikTok?

Well, technically you can post a lot of times on TikTok but from a marketing standpoint, it’s not a good idea to flood TikTok with tens of videos every single day.

It’s just not a good idea to post too many pieces of content on the platform. Neither you should post multiple videos at once, nor you should exceed the limit in a day.

There are several reasons why you shouldn’t do it. Some of them are as follows:

  • The TikTok algorithm might think of you as a spammer if you keep posting and reposting content more than what is required.
  • People will get irritated/annoyed and start to unfollow/mute you.
  • Your own posts are going to be competing with each other because you haven’t provided enough room/time for the posts to take-off. It’s very important to wait for some time before you post another peice of content.

My Advice On The Number Of TikTok Posts

I have been there on the platform a long time now and have noticed that people take the number of posts too seriously.

Sure, you shouldn’t keep your followers awaiting for longer, but you shouldn’t be extremely serious about posting 7-10 videos per day.

A lot of times, not only this will drain your energy and interest, but it will also decrease the quality of your content. Hence, it’s better to post 2-3 high-quality and engaging videos per day than posting 7-10 videos with no value/fun.

In Conclusion

Well, that was it, creators. There isn’t really a universal number or a magic number that I can give you because it all comes down to testing and optimizing for the best.

Though two to three videos is a good spot, you will still have to learn more about your audience, content creation, and the social media platform itself to come up with a solid number.
