Since Ahrefs is a popular tool used by most marketing professionals, it is no wonder that everyone wants to know more about the Ahrefs Affiliate Program.

Almost every other person you would meet in the SEO or blogging industry would love Ahrefs because of the value it offers to the customers/marketers.

How amazing would it be if you could find a way to partner with Ahrefs as an affiliate and promote it to earn residual commissions?

As far as I can think like a marketer, that would be really amazing, right?

Well, I did some research and found out everything you need to know about the current status of their affiliate program.

What is Ahrefs?

ahrefs and its affiliate program

Ahrefs is a popular SEO (Search Engine Optimization) tool that professionals use to increase their Google ranking.

It is an SEO software suite that contains tools for link building, competitor analysis, keyword research, rank tracking, and site audits.

It can be used to analyze a website’s keyword rankings, link profile, as well as SEO status. Moreover, it helps users conduct keyword research for YouTube, Google, and Amazon and is a useful tool for identifying content that’s performed well on a specific topic.

Details About The Ahrefs Affiliate Program

The Ahrefs Affiliate Program was initiated in 2011 whereby they offered their affiliates a lifetime commission rate of 20% on all deals. This was a one-time, nonrecurring commission with a cookie duration of 30-400 days.

The commission rate of 20% offered by Ahrefs is satisfactory and can yield massive earnings on higher-priced plans.

However, if we compare it with other market leaders, Ahrefs commission rate is on the lower end of the spectrum. Affiliates can use deep linking to create links to a specific page on the merchant’s website.

So instead of using a regular homepage affiliate link, users can link to a page, product, or article related to their content to increase relevance and boost conversion rates.

Ahrefs program was based on Impact’s affiliate software that is user-friendly and easy to navigate. It is also known to offer reliable tracking solutions.

However, the public Ahrefs Affiliate Program was closed four years after its inception, and there are no leads as to when it will be live again.

Does Ahrefs have an Affiliate Program?

Ahrefs doesn’t have an active public Affiliate Program at the moment. The Ahrefs team confirmed on April 15th, 2015, that they have officially closed their Affiliate Program, which started in 2011.

Even after Ahrefs announced the discontinuation of their Affiliate Program, their website still had a link to their affiliate page.

However, by February 2019, the link to their affiliate page was also removed following a website interface update. If you enter the affiliate page URL now, it directs you to their homepage.

All in all, we can assume that the program is not going to restart anytime soon.

How to Join the Ahrefs Affiliate Program Now?

As discussed earlier, Ahrefs has closed its doors for small publishers and affiliates, but big brands can still partner with Ahrefs directly to earn commission through promotion.

Joining the affiliate program is not as complicated as it may seem at first. The registration process is pretty straightforward.

  • Contact Ahrefs support center.
  • Explain to the customer representative that you want to partner with Ahrefs on a commission basis. You will have to share important details about your business to show that it qualifies for a partnership.
  • Once your request for partnership is approved, the Ahrefs marketing team will guide you through the next steps of the process.

In conclusion

Ahrefs is a trusted and reliable platform which is why people were looking forward to being a part of their Affiliate Program.

However, the company had different plans, and the affiliates’ journey with Ahrefs was cut short when the program was discontinued in 2015.

Nevertheless, with the rise in affiliate marketing and its proven effectiveness, Ahrefs might reconsider its position and come up with exciting options for affiliates in the near future.
